Anxiety Therapist in Glasgow
I’m fully qualified, experienced, insured, and registered with BACP (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy). As an anxiety therapist, I can help you learn how to relax, feel calm, and have the confidence to get the most out of your life.
I work with adults and younger people.
Counselling or Anxiety Therapy?
If you’re thinking of getting counselling for your anxiety, be careful – you may end up wasting your time and money.
When it comes to anxiety, counselling on its own is usually not enough, which is why NICE doesn’t recommend it. Anxiety needs a different, more pro-active approach.
I use a mixture of therapies including counselling, CBT, NLP, plus some other holistic approaches, to help you manage those anxious thoughts, and learn how to create a calm relaxing feeling in your body whenever you need to.
I’m based in Cambuslang, in the South-East Glasgow area.
Sessions are currently held online via Zoom / Skype / Facetime, due to current regulations. If online sessions aren’t possible for you and you really feel you need to see somebody face-to-face, get in touch, as I have some (limited) appointments available if necessary. There is also an option of telephone therapy.
What does Anxiety feel like?
If you’re thinking about Anxiety Counselling, the likelihood is you’ve been struggling with anxiety for a long time. Symptoms of anxiety can start quite gradually, with the occasional anxious thought or fluttering in the stomach, but they can grow over time and start to take over.
Pounding heart… churning stomach… clammy palms…. when anxiety strikes it can cause physical symptoms which feel scary, uncomfortable, and even downright embarrassing.
That horrible overwhelming feeling of anxiety or panic can appear when you least expect it; rising up from your stomach or chest, making it difficult to breathe, or giving you sleepless nights. Anxiety can put an immense strain on your relationships and stop you from doing the things you want to do.

Is Anxiety holding you back?
Have you found yourself avoiding certain situations that you used to find normal?
Situations such as work events, holidays, parties, or even everyday activities such as going to the shops?
Other people seem to breeze through these kind of things, so sufferers can often feel ashamed and stupid, and go to great lengths to hide their anxiety from others. It can be a lonely place to be.
But there’s no need to suffer in silence – I’m here to help.
The stigma of anxiety
Anxiety is a hidden illness, and often misunderstood. I’m always amazed by how cheerful and confident clients appear when they first come to me to get support with their anxiety. They’re used to putting a ‘brave face’ on it, and pretending to the world that everything’s alright.
But everything’s really NOT alright. And I’m here to help you change that.
As a counsellor, I specialise in helping you to release those anxious feelings, and transform your worried thoughts into confident, positive ones.
I provide gentle, natural, effective solutions for the distressing and debilitating symptoms of anxiety. With a private, confidential, professional service, I aim to make you feel completely at ease throughout the counselling process.
Anxiety can take over your life, leaving you with constant worries and feelings of panic, and stopping you from doing the things you want to do. It can have a negative affect on your job, your relationship, and even your health. But with the right approach, you can conquer it, and start reaching your true potential.

What does anxiety feel like?
Anxiety can come in many different forms, such as a feeling of unease, a constant state of worrying, or even panic and heart palpitations.
Others can't seem to pinpoint the cause of their fears; they simply have a constant underlying feeling that something bad is going to happen.
Side effects of anxiety
Anxiety can hold you back from so many things in life. Your relationships, your career, and even your health can really suffer.
Anxiety has a wide-reaching effect, not just on the sufferer, but on friends and family too, as relationships become strained.
Children can pick up on parents' anxiety and begin to exhibit the same symptoms as they 'learn' the behaviour.
How much does anxiety cost?
Anxiety can stop you from taking a promotion because it might involve travelling, public speaking, or interacting more with colleagues. It might even lead to job loss, as this article highlights: https://www.stylist.co.uk/life/anxiety-depression-mental-health-job-employer-fired-employee-rights/169825
Anxiety can cause you to cancel holidays and other events due to feelings of distress around those situations.
And the health implications of anxiety can cost much more, over a lifetime.
Anxiety - health effects
Anxiety can have a profound affect on health and well-being, leading to insomnia, fatigue, lack of focus, nausea, dizziness and palpitations. These symptoms can, understandably, lead to a very significant impact on your life in general.
