Raw Food Diet for weight loss
What is the Raw Food diet?
The Raw Food Diet involves food which has not been cooked or exposed to temperatures above 118 degrees F. Foods eaten on a rawfood diet include fresh and dried fruits, vegetables, nuts, seeds, sprouted grains and pulses, and sea vegetables.
Raw food is processed not by cooking, but by blending, juicing, soaking/sprouting, dehydrating and fermenting.
A raw food diet can be a very simple one, with lots of fresh fruits, juices and salads, or it can be quite creative, with raw versions of popular foods such as pizza, pasta, burgers and desert treats.
There are a multitude of benefits reported by those on a raw food diet, including weight-loss, increased energy, clear skin, healing from many diseases, and a more youthful appearance.
The raw food diet is steadily increasing in popularity and moving into the mainstream, with raw food restaurants popping up in most major cities, articles in popular newspapers and magazines, and promotion by a growing number of celebrities such as Woody Harrelson, Demi Moore and Alicia Silverstone.
