EFT for weight loss
What is EFT?
EFT, or Emotional Freedom Technique (also known as ‘tapping’) is a form of psychological acupressure which combines touch with a series of positive affirmations. EFT uses the same energy lines, or meridians, that have been used for thousands of years in Chinese medicine. EFT provides a form of release of negative thoughts and feelings around specific situations, and is a great tool for breaking habits and changing behaviours.
How does EFT work?
The client, or practitioner, will tap gently on specific areas around the head and upper body, while focusing on specific situations and issues by repeating certain statements. This helps to shift energy, release blockages and restore balance.
How does EFT help with weight loss?
Emotional Freedom Technique is especially useful for negative behaviours around food such as overeating, ‘comfort’ eating, and eating the wrong types of food. EFT helps you to focus on your behavioural patterns and start to accept them, which is the first step in changing them.
Lisa Murphy combines EFT with hypnotherapy and other natural therapies to help clients lose weight and adopt a healthy diet.
